Windows Phone contacts MMS SMS backup

How to use this app. First you should know that the windows phone contacts sms mms backup app is a Settings app that lets the user make backup of all your contacts (in VCF format) and messages (SMS & MMS including attachments) to SD card (in XML format) for later restore to same or another Windows Phone device.

To use this app, please go to Settings on your Windows Phone.  This app will NOT appear in your list of installed apps.

Windows phone contact sms mms Backup process is very simple

1. Download the app from the link given above. Then go into Settings and find the backup option. Start it. There will be two buttons - backup or restore. Since we want to make a backup, we click on the Backup button.

2. In the next window, you will get options to backup, contacts, SMS or MMS. Click on backup button to start the process. You can select the app to backup only contacts too.

3. That is it. Your windows phone or Nokia Lumia backup is stored in 'backup+restore' folder on the SD card. There is a known issue in case you are using a dual SIM device. Restoring a backup of messages from a dual SIM Windows Phone restores all messages to message store for the first SIM slot.

Start the backup app located in the settings menu. This time click on the Restore button.
